AnnetteRobinsonFor over 33 years Assemblywoman Annette Robinson has been a champion for the community working tirelessly to make positive things happen. From her service on the Community School Board in 1977 to her current position as a District Leader/State Committeewoman in the New York State Assembly, Assemblywoman Robinson has built a strong reputation of getting the job done for Brooklyn. She has long been instrumental in obtaining much needed municipal, state, and federal services for New York City constituents.

In 1991, Assemblywoman Robinson was elected to the New York City Council. For the 36th Council District, she served as chairperson of the sub-committee on Juvenile justice. Her other committee assignments included Youth Services; Higher Education; Consumer Affairs; International Intergroup Relations; Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs; Civil Service; and Labor and Government Operations. As a member of the Council, Assemblywoman Robinson was well known for her leadership on issues as ranging from civil rights, to senior services, to the digital divide, among other issues. Robinson also established international relationships between her Bedford Stuyvesant community and Panama, Brazil, and South Africa.

In 2002, Robinson was elected to the State Assembly. She has led a number of lobbying efforts to Albany, City Hall, and Washington, DC. Her committee assignments with the NYS Assembly are Aging, Children and Families, Housing, Small Business, Oversight, Analysis and Investigation and Real Property Taxation. She is also Chair of Subcommittee on Retention of Homeownership and Stabilization of Affordable Housing.

Assemblywoman Robinson is also a member of the Brooklyn Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.
